WD-40_® SPECIALIST_® RUST REMOVER SOAK dissolves rust quickly without harming surrounding parts, trim, gaskets or paint. It restores surfaces to bare metal without scraping, chipping or scrubbing. For light rust, leave parts in 1-3 hours and for heavy rust, leave parts in overnight. This non-toxic and biodegradable formula is effective on small or large items that can be soaked.

SOAK TEST

The test and what it means: Used to evaluate the rust removing capabilities of a test fluid. Rusty steel panels (panels that have been rusted by being exposed to humidity and the salt spray chamber) are partially dipped in rust removing fluid. As shown in the images to the right, WD-40 Specialist Rust Remover Soak removes tough rust and restores the soaked section of the steel panel back to bare metal.

We had to remove some light rust freckles off of a used chrome front fender on our Honda cb550. We did not want to re-chrome. We let it soak overnight and followed by some polish and elbow grease we ended up with a nice shiny fender!

Does not work I used this product to remove some surface rust from a motorcycle gas tank. I left the product in the tank for 4 days, rotating the tank 1/4 turn every 24 hours. Wheb I emptied the solution, the rust was still there. It did not appear that the product did anything. January 24, 2013

Couldn't ask for an easier job! Started collecting old antique barn lamps. Try removing rust from all of the small parts by hand. Tried WD-40 rust remover soak. I was simply amazed by the outcome of this product. It allowed me to use my time doing other things while it did it's job. I will be using the product again and will be recommending it to others. This stuff is Magic! :) "Almost unbelievable" is how I'd describe my experience with the Specialist Rust Remover Soak. It's mild... it looks like water, does'nt hardly smell, and it does'nt sting your fingers when you reach in to pull out a part. How's it work? Excellent! I left a small, rusty chrome grille in it overnight. The next morning, all of the rust was GONE, leaving the chrome looking close to new. Amazing stuff! January 9, 2013

Really Works I saw "Rust Remove Soak" on the DIY network show and since my basement received 5 feet of water from Hurricane Sandy everything was soaked in salt water. It took about 8 days to pump and dry out the basement before I could get to work on my tools which were completely rust by then. This product WORKED after washing of the product with a brush and water my chrome plated tools are as bright as the day I bought them, The tools that were not plated have no rust any more. Soak it, and Restore it! Ease of use is the first thing i noticed, simply simple! Wanted to rid the rust off several vintage tools and was surprised at how easy it was. After submerging vintage pliers and lug wrench into glass container filled with WD-40 Rust Remover Soak, i could watch the magic happen. WD-40 Specialist Rust Remover Soak Works! This product is amazing. Worked superb on my rusty old sledge hammer that I used back in the1970's. It soaked that rusty old hammer head and overnight and transformed it into a new looking hammerhead. As I dropped the hammerhead into the solution I could see it instantly go to work and particles of rust began floating away from the metal. This is an incredible rust removing product. This stuff really works! Used WD40 Rust Remover Soak on an old very rusted adjustable wrench and a pliers, both of which barely worked. A 24 hour soak cleaned them both, even to the teeth on each. No odors, no effect to skin, just great results and I stored the used portion for later re-use! December 12, 2012
