CORROSION PROTECTION
The test and what it means: ASTM B-117 is used to measure the level of corrosion protection provided by a test fluid at extreme conditions. Steel panels are treated with the test fluid and are allowed to drain for 2 hours, then placed in the salt spray cabinet that contains a fog of 5% salt (NaCl) solution.Even after 1200 hours of exposure to the harsh environments, WD-40 Specialist Long Term Corrosion Inhibitor helps prevent corrosion when compared to untreated metal.

I'm glad it's available!
I've used regular WD-40 as a rust preventer for 30 years, so I was really happy to see "WD" come out with their "Specialist" line of products, including the new Long-Term Corrosion Inhibitor.
So far, my experience with this product has been 100% positive!

Time Will Tell!
I'm excited to see this product at my local AutoZone, I wasn't aware of it until today but like most guys I use WD-40 extensively. I did a test of several different gun oils/corrosion inhibitor's last winter. I resurfaced the blocks and am running my test again this winter. I bought a can of WD-40 Corrosion Inhibitor today so I can add it to the mix. So far I'm going to put a heavy coating of each treatment on separate blocks, allow to dry overnight, apply a second heavy coating and then set outside in the grass for a 3 month Michigan winter torture test. Should be interesting! I probably can't post the link here to the facebook page I started to publish the results/details, but if you search facebook for "firearms CLP corrosion tests" you'll probably find it and I will add your request. I hope the WD-40 Long-Term Corrosion Inhibitor wins it all since it's easy to find close to my house!

Works great prevents rust and its weldable
While working on a Chromolly race cage we stored it outside in rainy weather under a tarp for 2 days , pulled it out with no rust. And best of all it welded up great with no problems.
